"It Came From Detroit" premier
James R. Petix, editor, filmmaker, and director extraordinaire screened his director's cut of "It Came From Detroit" at the Magic Bag on the 20th and 21st of May, 2009 to great crowds on both nights. The film is the ultimate fan’s look at the city’s internationally renowned “garage rock” scene. Produced over five years, the documentary chronicles the scene before and after the spotlight that came to town as the White Stripes and others rose to prominence on the world stage.
With over 100 interviews with artists such as Mick Collins (Dirtbombs), Jason Stollsteimer (Von Bondies), Brendan Benson (Raconteurs), and Wayne Kramer (MC5), "It Came From Detroit" shows first hand what it was like to ride the wave.
It Came From Detroit recently kicked off the Music Doc Festival in Gothenberg, Sweden on April 1st! Filmmakers James R. Petix, Sarah Babila, and the project were warmly received.
Supporting the Breast Cancer 3 Day
RingSide Creative gals Tanya Baker and Jenny Bilski have teamed up to participate in The Breast Cancer 3 Day Event. So far they've raised $ 2,322 – a little more than half of their total goal. To further support their fund raising goals, Margrit Schumacher and Julie Seymour (our Queens of Client services) came up with the idea for "Lunch for the Cure!" – a monthly lunch series, where a $5 donation gets you some good eats and goes to a great cause. The money raised so far from the first lunch, spare change donations, bottle returns from employees and clients, have totaled over $700!
Tanya and Jenny have been training hard to go the distance for the cause! Check the links below to see how you can offer them your support and get involved!
